Postdoctoral fellowship

We are looking for an outstanding and enthusiastic researcher to work in the postdoc project:

Thermoelectricity in Crystalline Topological Insulators

Post-Doc position (24 months) in the framework of the research project Thermoelectricity and thermal transport in topological materials, based at the University of São Paulo’s Physics Institute (IF-USP) in Brazil and supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) through its Young Investigator Grants program. The selected candidate will work under supervision of Prof. Valentina Martelli.

The Post-Doc fellow will take part in sample preparation, sample characterization, and development of new experimental facilities for the investigation of thermal transport under extreme conditions in selected candidate topological insulators. This project takes place within a FAPESP-Max Planck Institute agreement; the postdoc is expected to participate in an intense exchange with the Partner Institution in Dresden (Max Planck Institute for Chemical Physics in Solids, CPfS). Further information about the project can be sent on request (valentina.martelli@usp.br).

Profile: Experience in experimental condensed matter, and experience with low-temperature techniques. It is a plus to have experience with thin film preparation techniques.

To apply, send to valentina.martelli@if.usp.br:

1) CV;
2) Motivational letter;
3) Two contacts of reference.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 9,047.40 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
